everyone's a little bit racist...it's true.

This weekend I was fortunate enough to catch a showing of Avenue Q, one of the more recent popular broadway shows. I'm really happy I got to see it! it's so incredibly clever with really great, catchy songs. I haven't been able to stop singing "Everyone's a little bit racist" in my head..because it really is true. So are a lot of the other things they were saying in the show and (as helen says) i love that it's so applicable to our lives/generation right now. c'mon, "bad idea bears"??? classic genius. yes, go see it while you have a chance, i say! i'm so in the mood to see some more broadway shows, so I'm glad I already have tickets to see Mamma Mia in a couple weeks.

I also took advantage of goldstar again and checked out Big City Improv at the Shelton theater on friday. Imagine comedy sportz, minus the sportz bit. They were actually pretty good, better than the SJ troupe, but we had sort of a lame audience. I guess shows like that will just never compare to Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles, i mean those guys are just on an entirely different level of funny.

My weekend otherwise was lovely, but I totally pigged out. Before Avenue Q we had a fondue party at helen/anne/runjini's place where I went nuts with the cheese and chocolate fondue. fondue is sooo good yet so very, very evil. Sunday was eating on the sidewalk in pac heights (La Boulange..i just can't ever resist the smoked salmon sandwich there) and a slice of pizza for dinner..as you can see I'm in big trouble already.

and ON TOP OF THAT..my coworker that was on maternity leave came back today so to celebrate there are apple walnut muffins and sogo cake sitting not 5 feet from my desk calling me..always calling me...going "jooooaaaaaaannnnaaaa eeeeaaatt meeeeeeeeeeeeee" oh okay, I'll have just one more muffin.
